Wood stove installation

Make room for real wood heat.

A new wood stove starts with a plan for your home. Tell us about your space and we’ll look for a local installer who can assess the project and provide a quote.

Find an installer

Free to request a match. Availability varies by area.

Wood stove with a fire burning beside tall windows in a quiet modern home

Start with your home, not a shopping cart.

The right installation depends on your room, the home’s construction, and the route for a suitable chimney system. An installer can help evaluate those details before you commit to an appliance.

  • Adding a freestanding wood stove to an existing house
  • Replacing an older wood stove
  • Installing a stove you already own, subject to installer acceptance

What goes into your quote?

Ask for an itemized assessment covering the appliance, venting, hearth protection, labor, and any required permits or inspection. Your installer should confirm which items are included and which remain your responsibility.

Already bought a stove?

Include the manufacturer, model, and condition in your request. Not every installer accepts customer-supplied or used equipment. We’ll include those details when looking for a suitable match.

A few things worth knowing

Good questions. Clear answers.

Does my home need an existing chimney?

Not necessarily. A new chimney system may be an option. A local installer needs to evaluate the building, location, and applicable requirements before confirming what is possible.

Will FireplaceLab give me the installation quote?

Your installer provides the assessment and quote. FireplaceLab collects your project details and helps look for a suitable local provider. We do not perform installations or set the installer’s prices.

Is there a fee to request a match?

There is no charge to submit your project. An installer may charge for a site visit or assessment; ask about any fees before booking. We may receive a referral fee from participating providers.

Do you have an installer in every area?

Availability varies by location and project. Submitting a request does not guarantee a match. We’ll use your project details to check for a suitable provider.

Can a wood stove provide heat during an outage?

Tell your installer that outage use is a priority. Ask them to confirm how the specific appliance operates without power, including any fans or controls, and whether it suits your heating needs.
