Useful information.
Clear origins.
FireplaceLab helps homeowners understand professionally installed wood heat. We research public information and make it easier to plan a project. We do not inspect properties, certify businesses, or issue permit decisions.
Local rules come from official sources.
We link to the relevant city, county, or state resource and explain the area it covers. A mailing address or ZIP code alone may not establish jurisdiction. Where a source is older or a detail remains unconfirmed, we say so. Your installer and permit office must confirm current project-specific requirements.
A listing is a starting point.
Initial business listings are based on companies’ own published services and coverage. We distinguish retailers from installation providers and show the date we checked the website. That date does not mean we called the business, checked its insurance, or verified a current license. Listings are alphabetical and unpaid; they are not ratings, endorsements, or a comprehensive list.
Costs need context.
National planning ranges are labeled as national. We do not turn them into city averages by changing the city name. Local quote data, if published later, will include its collection period, sample size, and project scope. We do not promise annual savings or payback without explaining the inputs.
How this work may be funded.
We may receive referral fees for installer introductions. A directory listing alone does not mean a company has a commercial relationship with FireplaceLab. Paid placements and affiliate links, if added, will be identified where they appear.
Before you hire.
Confirm relevant qualifications, insurance, service coverage, the full written scope, permit responsibility, assessment fees, and warranty terms directly with the contractor. The contractor provides the quote and performs the work.
Updates and corrections.
Each local guide displays the date its sources were reviewed. Public information can change between reviews, so use the linked official or business source to confirm details before acting. A dedicated corrections channel will be added before the public directory launch.
